There were so many beautiful looks from this years oscars and lots of variation.
My absolute favourite was worn by Olivia Culpo. It was so fresh and youthful with the Pop of purple and lavender on the eye and a welcomed break from the recent nude look. Don’t get me wrong, I love nude and it suits everyone but sometimes you just need some colour.
I recreated thislook using Mac products. I purchased the 9x purple palette a long time ago and it is perfect for this look. I was not a fan when I first purchased but I have to say it has become one of my most used palettes in my kit. The key to this look is using purple as a liner on the top and bottom lid. A nude lip and bronzer is perfect to finish, keeping it fresh and youthful
What was your favourite look from this years Oscars?
My wish list this month is small and all of the pieces are from River island. I’m loving the bright colours and got a bit excited when I saw some of the stock. I have had a little make up overload recently so it’s all shoes and clothes this month!
I love the style of this skirt. It would be so easy to wear and you can pop sandals or summer runners underneath when the weather warms up ! ( ever the optimist )
This won’t be everyone cup of tea but there is a granny that lives in me. I love them and could imagine them under a line or maxi skirts, or stream lined trousers .
These will be mine! Look how fun they are! I would never be in a bad mood if I had multi coloured fluff on my feet.
It is currently lashing rain outside so these will all have to wait for a while!
While the fashion was fierce from the Golden globes, one area I always get excited about is the make up looks.
The main look this year was the no make up look and I was so excited to see it. I’m all for the bold eye and lip but this natural look is very refreshing and perfect for any future brides out there.
Here are my favourite natural looks from the event
The next look was the berry lip and burgundy eyes. This is another favourite of mine and looks so striking. How amazing is it in the pictures below.
This is something many people will shy away from but it looks amazing on on all skin tones.
What was your favourite look ?
What a few weeks. The Christmas rush is over and now it is back to reality.
Here are some essentials that got me through the party season. And I am not talking make up or skincare today…. It’s all about the underwear.
Perfection Fashion tape:
I carry this in my make up kit, along with other emergency essentials and it came in handy this Xmas for some tops. One quick strip of this can be a life saver in revealing tops. I got mine in Debenhams for around €7.50
I ordered these in early November for a top I had purchased in Zara (same one that required the tape) They are so easy to put on and keep everything in place and help keep everything up! You can order from the Perkys website and I paid €9.99. Too pairs are in the pack. I worse the top without the perkys also a different night and will never go back to not having them again! You can order yours here :
I am a fan of backless tops and dresses and needed one for a dress. I have used the Penneys range that are €6 in the past. They do the job but I found the stick didn’t last aswell as other brands. I purchased a pair from Debenhamas called Eve’s. They were good but I did have to adjust a few times after dancing. You can pick these up for €15.
Cocoa brown Instant tan bronzing gel:
Ok, I had to throw one product into the mix. You know my main tan is one hour cocoa brown tan but amazingly I had never used the gel version. Love it. It is easy to apply and great when you are in a rush and need a quick fix. This was €6.99ish from Sam Mc Cauleys.
There is nothing nicer then Flowers!
A huge trend over the past few years has been flower crowns. We see them every year at festivals like Coachella and I go weak for them. Most high street stores jumped on the bandwagon creating smaller hair bands that were easier for all of us to wear.
Some people are steering away from typical bridal head pieces and veils and opting for bridal flower crowns. I think they are amazing and a fantastic accessory for spring/ summer brides. Even Autumn brides can wear these with lovely berry or orange hues.
I don’t know if I would recommend them for a winter wedding, especially in Ireland! You would spend half the day making sure it wasn’t blown away!
It’s such a great way to add some colour on the day too. Remember the accessories are nearly as important as the dress!
Here are some of my favorites that I stumbled across on Pinterest.
It’s also a fun idea for a hen. We did a festival theme for my twins a few years ago and all wore some flower crowns. We didn’t want to take them off!
Sorry, I have been a bit slack with posts ! I hope April has been good to you all so far. I’m back with a few bits and pieces on my wish list for the month.
1. NYX Auto Eyebrow pencil
I can’t wait to try these. I stumbled across them online and thought they would be worth a go. I usually use gel or shadow to fill in my brows. These come in four shades and if they are as good as the other NYX products I have, I would be happy to add to my make up kit.
2. Mon Purse pouch
I treated myself to this for my birthday in pink (naturally!) with my new initials. The quality is fantastic and I am eyeing up a darker shades for Winter. it so doesn’t help that they are only around the corner from my workplace!
3. Wayne Goss brushes
I am slightly obsessed with Wayne. I feel I need to do a post about how awesome his videos are… you know what, I will. Leave that one with me for a few days. Anyway, he has a brush line and I want it! Even one brush from the line!. Go check him out
4. River Island – New Shoes
I have been really bad for heels lately, always opting for flats. If I had these bad boys I would want to wear them all day, every day. What else would you expect from River Island
